The incident unfolded over the weekend, when authorities spotted the ute travelling along a local road. Upon pulling the vehicle over, officers say they detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver, who is believed to be aged 19.
A subsequent roadside breath test returned a positive result, leading to the teen's arrest. Police have confirmed that the vehicle's tray was carrying seven passengers, all of whom were reportedly not wearing seat belts, which is illegal in Queensland.
